Initially my interest in photography started after I stumbled upon my dad's old 1950s Adox Golf S3 camera, which he taught me how to use, this was 1975. Since the camera was so old and film for it wasn't always readily available, taking pictures was just an occasional thing. Photography got a lot more serious after I bought my first SLR camera, a Praktica, second hand from my brother-in-law. I soon added a macro 1:1 to the lenses it came with and a new hobby was born. Back then my favorite subjects were macro and rally racing. These days my interests are close-ups, nature, travel and landscape photography. Thanks to the continuous development in long zoom compact cameras, I was able to add a new subject to my interests "birdography".
A thank you goes out to my sister Christel, who gently pushed me in the right direction to setting up this website, my brother-in-law Johan, for his advice on "birdography" and last but not least, my lovely wife, who always supports me, no matter what I'm getting into. Hope you enjoy.
